Andrew Brown wins The Open Championship
July 19, 2026
It's Always Sunny at the Open Championship...at least this week at Royal Birkdale. Not a drop of rain all week. No crazy winds. Just a baked out course. Scoring was low for the morning rounds, and in the afternoons the guys were just mostly stagnant. Ryan Fox took advantage of another Sam Burns sunday slide to pick up his 1st major championship, with a clutch putt on the 18th ole. Scottie Scheffler could have easily been 5 shots clear of the field if his putter worked.
League wise, Andrew Brown picks up his 2nd win of the season, and roars into 2nd place in the standings. No one scored more points during the Majors this year than Andrew. Jeremy Steele remains in the lead, with a 181 point advantage over Andrew. Miranda Brown sits in 3rd place. Last week's 2nd and 3rd, Matt Mixa and Jerry Burke hit hard times this week, and dropped back, but are still in contention. Have to give special recognition to Brooks Deaton this week. Brooks hit the quin-fecta, picking 5 golfers who all MC'd. Brooks gets the Golden Bagel this week.
Only two tournaments left for our season. The FedEx St. Jude and the BMW Championship.

Jeremy Steele wins The Traveler's

A little summer thunderstorm delayed the action on Sunday and didn't leave time for a playoff. Scottie Scheffler and Viktor Hovland came back on Monday morning to play 1 extra hole. Vik made his putt, and Scottie missed a 6 footer to extend. Scottie's incredibly consisten season continues, but he remains winless since January.
Jeremy Steele wins for the 3rd time this year, and pulls out to a nice lead heading into the Open in a few weeks.

Kacy Denning wins The U.S. Open at Shinnecock

The weather never really got as bad as the USGA predicted, and there was some huge variances in the weather tha AM/PM groups had to play through. Wyndham Clark, the People's Champion, got the best of the weather and managed not to choke it away on Sunday (although he tried) to win his 2nd US Open.
Kacy Denning picks up hi2 2nd win of the season, and his 1st Major victory. Jeremy Steele moves into 1st place.

Jeremy Steele wins The Memorial, as WCU Catamount J.T. Poston gets his 4th career PGA win

After a few weeks off, The BFGL was back this week at The Memorial. J.T. Poston and Ryan Gerard had a 2-hole playoff with Poston getting the biggest win of his career. Jeremy Steele wins for the 2nd time in 3 tournaments, holding off Kyle Zaepfel who gets his 2nd runner-up of the year. Chris House remains the points leader.

Jerry Burke wins the PGA Championship at Aronimink

No one in the league picked the 2026 PGA Champion, Aaron Rai. Only person picked Jon Rahm. Only 1 person picked Alex Smalley. Not the leaderboard anyone would have predicted. Jerry Burke took full advantage and scored his 1st BFGL win this week, and moved into the Top 10 in points. Chris House displaced Chris Faulk as the points leader, and Miranda Brown moved into 2nd place.

Jeremy Steele wins the Truist at Quail Hollow
May 10, 2026
It looked like Rickie Fowler might turn back the clock and get a win, but he had to settle for 2nd place, behind 1st time winner Kristoffe Reitan. Jeremy Steele gets his 1st BFGL win this week, holding off Larry Braswell down the stretch. Chris Faulk re-takes the points lead from Matt Mixa by a scant 2 points heading into the double points weekend at the PGA Championship.

Jennifer Braswell wins at The Blue Monster
May 3, 2026
The tournament got off to a rocky start for Jennifer, with Jake Knapp withdrawing right before his round. But the rest of her team was pretty good. Jennifer joins Matt Mixa as the only repeat winners this season. Kyle Zaepfel suffers a devastating 2nd play finish, only 1 point behind Jennifer, despite having the winner and 2nd place. Brutal beat.

Scottie Scheffler and Matt Fitzpatrick went into a playoff at Harbon Town, but it was a long par putt on 18 by Ricker Fowler that secured Andrew's first BFGL win.

Matt Mixa wins The Masters
April 12, 2026
Rory McIlroy wins back-to-back Green Jackets, and Matt Mixa becomes the 1st 2-time BFGL winner, and first Major winner. It was big win on a double points weekend, and moved Matt back into the points battle, right behind Chris Faulk.

Matt Bangert wins The Players Championship
March 15, 2026
Another week, another Sunday collapse by the leader. Ludvig Aberg took a couple baths on the back 9, and turned the tournament over to Cam Young and Matt Fitzpatrick. Young made a clutch putt on 17 to tie the lead, and Fitzy made bogey on 18 to give Cam Young his biggest win to date.
The league is off until The Masters. Study up, because it's the 1st Major of the year, and a double points event.

Kacy Denning wins the Arnold Palmer at Bay Hill
March 8, 2026
After leading the tournament 4 straight days, Daniel Berger gave it up on the first playoff hole to Akshay Bhatia. Akshay gets his 3rd career win and 1st in a Signature Event. The big news this week was of course Scottie's continued struggles, and Rory pulling WD Saturday morning. Rory's WD was a tough break for those that picked him this week (your truly included).
Next week is The Players, our last tournament before The Masters in April.

Jennifer Braswell wins the Genesis

Jacob Bridgeman held on for his 1st ever win, and sealed Jennifer's win this week in the league, making it 3 different winners in the first 3 tournaments. Chris Faulk gets his 3rd straight top 10, and takes the points lead.
Next week is the Cognizant, which is not a tournament for us.

Matt Mixa wins the WM Open at TPC Scottsdale!

Thanks to Hideki's late blowup, Mixa was able to sneak away the very first BFGL victory, holding off Justin Braswell. Matt takes the lead in the overall standings with 15 events to go.
